Before I installed a screen door, flies were constantly getting into the house through the garage. I tried flypaper but I invariably bumped into it, which is pretty gross. I found this mix which was proposed to catch flies without the mess.
After a few days, I smelled what I thought was a dead mouse in my garage. After looking around for a while, I happened to venture near the fly catching concoction… It smelled like a dead animal and had a bunch of flies captured already. I felt it was better off OUTSIDE the garage.-

It’s my neighbor’s cat, part orange tabby, part Persian. His name is Parker and he likes my back yard but hates me. I caught him sunning himself on my deck one day and took this photo. It was like he was trying to stare me down. Nowadays, he spends all day sleeping on the ramp in front of my shed as it gets sun most of the day. He likes all the birds in my yard but he’s too old to catch them anymore. I guess we have a lot in common...

I do associate orange with oranges. But earlier today I wondered if now I will associate orange with the smell of dust bins. I was vacuuming and some parts of my vacuum are orange.

It would be far too difficult to pick just one song that shaped my life. It was 1967; I was a freshman in High School. The war in Vietnam was looming large in my immediate future. Adolescence was over, and the music that was emanating at that time spoke to something in many of us that we could not yet explain, but somehow we knew that things would never be the same.

An architect. Closest I got was to become a draftsmen. Life continued and I ran a manufacturing company for over 30 years, until China came in at half price. My last endeavor was designing a new production line in Indiana. This was part of it.

It wasn't so much the hair style (I was happy to get past crew cuts), it was the Nestle Styling Gel my Mom was so fond of. It was the Dippity Do of the 1950's and she'd dunk the comb in this stuff and comb in through your hair. In a matter of minutes, it would harden and nothing, I mean nothing, could make your hair move. I feared wearing a hat lest it break my hair.

Train rides. In this picture, I’m four and with my two older brothers. My Dad worked for the Pennsylvania RR and always got double Pullman rooms for our annual trips to Florida. This one was called The Silver Meteor and we’re just outside of Fredericksburg, VA (My Dad was a stickler for posting such notes on the backs of all our photos). For a little kid, everything about trains was magical… eating like a grown up in the dining car, playing in the club car, meandering up and down the narrow hallways and being extra careful when traversing from one car to another. The views from the rooms were great and there still is nothing better than hitting the bed the porter just made up for you and being lolled to sleep with the gentle sway and the muffled “click clack” of the rails under you.

Before LiveVideo's demise, I had accumulated over 500 videos there. Vimeo offers the best video quality at a nominal price in which to display some of them.
